The following sequence is the most profound demonstration of student love for teachers I’ve ever witnessed. A perfectly timed teacher appreciation song, for Teacher Appreciation week.

In a surge of inspiration, my daughter wrote a song dedicated to her teacher. Then over the next several days, she conspired with her class and other teachers to sing it to her as a surprise, with the help of her ukulele. When the class joined in the singing at the end, her teacher’s jaw dropped.

It also deserves mentioning that this was the teacher’s first year, so my heart swells with joy that this is how she gets to end it.

Let’s just say there were tears and an overflow of emotion for such a beautiful act. All of us are blown away by this degree of collective love, and I have to share it with you.

Here’s a vibe of the moment, altered for privacy purposes, and you can click to hear the audio.

Please allow the message of this song to live within you.
