The primary purpose of early math learning is not really about learning math. Crazy to say, but it's true.

The primary purpose of early math learning, specifically elementary school level math, is to imbue the kids with positive associations. Such as:

  • making it fun

  • making it connected to their lives

  • piquing their curiosity

  • establishing their confidence

  • de-stigmatizing the act of making mistakes

  • honing them on seeking healthy challenges (i.e. the goal is not to make it "easy")

So in this growing library featuring my own kids and their friends, we dive into fun games and scenarios that you'll instantly see why they're magnetic. From grouping colored glass to objects in nature, all the way to prancing around CostCo, thinking of creative math problems to solve.

It doesn't hurt that the last bonus video in this playlist is me surprise rapping during their pre-school story time.
